On November 8, leaders from Myakka Research Group will attend the Annual Scholarship Luncheon hosted by the State College of Florida Foundation to show their support for the foundation’s mission.

Through the collaboration of MRG and the State College of Florida Foundation, MRG works with interns from SCF who study STEAM subjects, including science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, and provides them with real lab experience and guidance.

At the annual scholarship luncheon, SCFF will present news about yearly initiatives and celebrate the success of participating students from SCF. All proceeds from the event and silent auction will go towards student scholarships.

“The relationship we have with SCFF is something we cherish at Myakka Research Group. Our leadership team is excited to hear about their most recent success and help celebrate the academic accomplishments of the students we mentor, and others,” said Chris Baden, CEO of Myakka Research Group. “Working with the dedicated and bright students at SCF is an honor for our entire team and we see our ongoing relationship with SCFF as an essential part of our organization.

SCFF strives to remove the financial obstacle for students wanting to further their education at the State College of Florida. Four goals are set by SCF to help students achieve academic and professional success.

The four primary goals regarding student achievement set by SCF are:

  • Goal 1: Job Placement and Continuing Education for Program Completers
  • Goal 2: Transfer Student Success as Defined by Grade Point Average
  • Goal 3: Professional Licensure, First-Attempt Pass Rate
  • Goal 4: Student Success, Retention and Graduation Rates

Myakka Research Group aids SCFF in their mission by providing students the opportunity to develop their laboratory skills in a professional environment.

“The curiosity, energy and enthusiasm of our interns help our team to create incredible results. The amazing students that participate in our internship program may not have had the opportunity if it wasn’t for the work of SCFF, and we are thankful to play a role in their success,” said Baden.
